Are there blind photographers? Five minutes ago I would have said “probably not”. How do you compose and bring your picture beyond the snapshot that is just an arbitrary reflection of some scenery? Then I came across this small movie about Pete Eckert, a blind photographer from Sacramento, CA. I haven’t heard about him or his works and probably wouldn’t have thought much if I had just seen his photos. However what really strikes me is the artistic determination that drives Pete. It is not that blind people can shoot good photos, or better paint with light and sound, but also that a person is not discouraged by a streak of fate to follow his urge to create. This I find highly inspirational and something everybody should remember in all times.
So listen to Pete and visit his homepage for the whole message.
